Good afternoon!
I hope you all had a wonderful week and were able to stay warm. While our week started out rocky, we were able to turn it around yesterday and today. I am impressed with everyone’s reflectiveness to help us all utilize our time together. We brainstormed ideas together how to help ourselves be successful, and I’m proud of how many students have stepped up and advocated for themselves.
Most of my updates are about academics this week. This week we began our nonfiction reading and writing units. We will be linking these to our new unit of inquiry, which we also started this week.
Upcoming Dates:
12/10 PE (Don’t forget sneakers!)
12/11 Spanish
12/12 Technology & Music
12/13 PE (Don’t forget sneakers!)
Mrs. Bedwell out in PM (in building)
12/14 Spanish
My Best,
Alison Bedwell

- Volunteer: I have updated our volunteer schedule for the month of December. I really appreciate all the help! If you have any feedback for helping utilize your time better, feel free to reach out. I want you to feel like you are being utilized to the full potential. If you are available to volunteer at our holiday party (12/21 from 2-3), let me know! I will pass along your information to our party planner! Here is the link again if you need it for signing up! https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/2539725/true#/invitation
- Reading Logs/Homework: As a friendly reminder, reading logs should be turned in every Tuesday. This week I had many more turned in, so thank you for helping get those turned in. It may seem small, but it helps grow responsibility in your child. Don’t forget about vocabulary practice at home! While we spend some time practicing and discussing the words as they appear in our learning, the bulk of studying should happen at home. Students can practice on Quizlet (found under “Resources” on our class website) at home!
My Best,
Alison Bedwell
