Good afternoon!
It’s hard to believe that in just one week we will be off for two weeks! I can feel the excitement for the holidays in the room every day, and I feel it growing more and more as we approach winter break. While I know we are ready to spend time with family and friends, we still have a whole week of learning left. We have been busy this week growing our minds and being reflective.
Announcements:
- Great resource: Our reading unit has been all about nonfiction. While planning and reading, I came across this playlist for Ted Talks that are great for kids. I always love watching these videos, and we have watched some in class (none of these). I thought I would share the playlist with you all to share with your student. Some are kids speaking, and others are just topics that might be interesting for kids. Feel free to enjoy! I have watched some, and I found them to be very engaging! https://www.ted.com/playlists/86/talks_to_watch_with_kids
- Practice Math Test: I sent home a practice math test today as homework. I will be sending home the answer key on Tuesday for students to check their work. I always tell students that my practice tests looks very similar to the real test. It won’t ever hurt to take the test and check their work. We will take the test on Friday.
- Technology Party: We are close to earning a technology party next week! We are just two marbles away. As soon as the jar is filled, I will be sending home a permission slip. I will provide more information when it is filled. Be on the lookout for the permission slip early next week.
